HOW TO SEND YOUR MUSIC

Were you asked to send your music in to our sound team? Yeah? Then make sure to read this page! We have a system of doing things that just kind of works, and we’re a very small team, so if you can work with us, then we can all work together to have a great time! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or problems; most answers can also be found on YouTube if you’d like to look around online.

First things first: please do not wait until the day before the event to start sending in music. Unfortunately, a lot of people do this and create an overload of work on a day that is already very stressful. If possible, try to send your music in at least a few days prior to the event — though there’s nothing wrong with being as early as a couple of weeks ahead.

Now, how: from your phone/tablet/computer (wherever your MP3 or WAV files are stored), log in to Google Drive (or make an account). Create a new folder on Google Drive, go into that folder, and add to it all of the tracks that you want in your set. As you’re doing this, please keep in mind how long your set time is and how much speaking you would like to do before/between/after songs. Most people need at least five minutes to minister throughout a set; so if your set time is 25 minutes, I would advise doing less than 20 minutes of music total. Unless you’re Jimmy Hunt. I advise he do maybe two songs so he can preach his heart out the other 20 minutes. (Just kidding, he’s doing great these days with the time he’s given!)

Now that you have a Google Drive folder containing your entire set, share it with me so I can download everything in it! While inside of your folder, all you do is click on the name of your folder (or on mobile, hit the three dots) and hit “Share” and then “Get link”. It’ll show you a link that you can copy — copy it and start an email addressed to mallorybe33@gmail.com with your artist name and the event name as the subject title. Paste the link for your Google Drive folder into the email, then please type out the order that your songs should be played in so there’s no confusion (things can accidentally get mixed up when being transferred).

I will then be able to quickly and efficiently download and organize your set as well as advise you on time constraints and any issues that may occur with files. If you complete this in a timely and attentive manner, you’ll become one of my favorite people to work with!

Again, please feel free to reach out to one of us or to Google things if something doesn’t make sense — I’d much rather walk you through it than receive ten emails from you with a link to a different file in each one. No offense, y’all who have done it — I’m just saying we can totally figure this out.
